06 – Hostile filming protocol
The local team members with whom you work may create risks for you and you may create new risks for them. Local team members should be covered by the same protocols, plans and provisions as the international crew.
Take responsibility for local crew members' safety by doing what you can to mitigate their risk. You may not need to share all of the details of your film with your fixers or drivers — just enough for them to provide informed consent to participate so they can understand the risk they are taking, but not enough that they could be penalized for their participation.
